Honesty × Shadow Side test
This is a free online personality test that captures two things at once: how much you play fair and what lives on your shadow side (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy). It is built on two open research scales used by psychologists worldwide.
Narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy test (the Dark Triad)
The shadow part is a Dark Triad test using the SD3 scale: narcissism (a need for recognition and specialness), Machiavellianism (calculation, manipulation, influence games), and psychopathy (impulsiveness and boldness that can tip into bluntness and lack of empathy). These are not labels and not diagnoses. In healthy doses, these traits exist in everyone. The test shows how much each one is expressed in you, and where you direct that energy.
Honesty test based on the HEXACO model
The first layer is Honesty-Humility from the six-factor HEXACO personality model: the axis of sincerity, fairness, lack of greed, and modesty. It is usually the opposite of the Dark Triad. Together they give you a rounded, honest map rather than a flat split into “good / bad”.

43 short statements. You rate each one from 1 to 5, based on how much it fits you. It takes about 6 minutes. Trust your first reaction, it is usually more honest than a carefully considered answer. At the end, you get a personal breakdown across two layers: the honesty axis is shown directly, while the more sensitive shadow layer is presented carefully, without labels or diagnoses. Frequently asked questions
Is this a narcissism test? Narcissism is one of the three axes in the shadow section (alongside Machiavellianism and psychopathy). The test measures it not as a diagnosis, but as a trait on a spectrum: how strongly it shows up in you.
Can I use this to check a partner or colleague? This is a self-test. It is about the person taking it. You cannot diagnose narcissism or manipulation in someone else from a questionnaire, but taking it yourself helps you recognise the patterns.
Is it free? Yes, both the test and the personal breakdown are free.
Is this a diagnosis? No. The test is a self-knowledge tool based on personality scales, not clinical diagnosis and not psychotherapy. A high score on a shadow axis does not mean “something is wrong with you”. It points to a pattern, not a label.
Are my answers private? Yes. Only you can see your breakdown in your account.
